A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

 A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

Journey is always fascinating. It charms our mind and make us happy. Journey is a break in our monotonous everyday life. After a journey we feel relaxed and fresh. Peace fills our heart after we have made a really wonderful journey. I made a journey by train with my friends last year. I received a letter from my uncle at Chattogram to attend the marriage ceremony of his daughter. I took some of my friends with me. Early in the morning I reached Kamlapur Railway Station where I found my other friends.

The train came. We found seats in a carriage in the waiting train, saw our luggage put in, and then settled down for the journey. The guard blew his whistle and waved his green flag, the engine slowly began to move and we glided out of the station. Everything that we were passing was pretty and so we amused ourselves by looking through the windows. As the train winded away, eastwards, we could see a number of hills and mountains.

We passed by green field, beautiful watery areas and wonderful hillocks. Everything seemed very bright and pleasant to us. From the train, we could see the clear, green waters and women and small boys and girls swimming happily and taking bath in the ponds and rivers. At noon we took our lunch in the train. The dishes were not so bad. We took a lot. The journey was highly enjoyable. Some of my friends started to sing.

Other passengers were also enjoying our childish attitudes. Some were enjoying the scenery of the way. Some people were also sleeping or reading books. After all, all of us were enjoying the time in our own ways. At last at 4 pm we reached Chattogram. The road was really wonderful. The journey seemed to me like a dream. However, when we reached Chattogram, we found my uncle waiting for us.

He welcomed us and took to his residence. Thus our wonderful journey ended very beautifully.

It was really an exciting journey that filled my heart with thrill and excitement. I could never forget it in my whole life. Whenever I recollect the memories of that day. I feel something extraordinarily wonderful is going to happen in my heart which I am unable to explain. I can only feel it and enjoy it.

FLOODS IN BANGLADESH (PARAGRAPH WITH VIDEO)

FLOODS IN BANGLADESH
(Paragraph)

Bangladesh is the world's largest delta region whose rivers fall into the Bay of Bengal. Due to its geographical position, different types of natural calamities like floods, cyclones, drought, etc visit the country almost every year. So, Bangladesh is called a land of natural calamities. Among the natural calamities, flood is the most common here. There are numerous barrages like Farakka in the upstream positions of our rivers. During the dry season, they divert most of our river water. It causes low flow and siltation.  For it, our rivers are dying and losing the capacity to hold water. During the rainy season, water overflows the banks of the rivers and floods the surrounding areas. Sometimes, untimely heavy rainfall causes untimely floods. Flood damages crops and washes away houses, properties, domestic animals etc. People suffer from food, shelter and pure drinking water. After floods, different types of diseases break out. As a result, their sufferings know no bounds. To prevent floods, obstacles to natural flow of water should be removed. Anti-flood dams should be built up. Besides, E-necessary steps should also be taken to minimize the sufferings of the flood-affected people.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES (PARAGRAPH)

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
(Paragraph)

My childhood was full of events and enjoyment. Some of those events still thrill me. I spent my childhood in my native village with my parents, grandparents and uncles. My grandmother loved me very much. I passed my days very happily there. My first day at school was one of my most memorable events. I went to school riding on the shoulder of my uncle. He took me to the Headmaster who asked me some questions. I was very nervous, but I could answer them all. All the teachers of the school were very friendly. They used to teach us with great care and affection. My classmates were friendly and cooperative too. They became my playmates. Writing from dictation doing sums, reciting poems and ethical words loudly, singing, drawing etc. were our regular works at school. Again swimming in the river or pond, climbing trees, stealing mangoes from orchard, playing different games like `gollacchue, `kana machi', `dariabandha' etc. were also very enjoyable. The death of my beloved grandmother was the bitterest experience of my childhood. I was greatly shocked at it. Actually, my childhood was very enjoyable. When I recollect my childhood days, I feel very happy.

DEFORESTATION (PARAGRAPH)

DEFORESTATION
Paragraph

Deforestation is just opposite to the concept of tree plantation. It refers to the act of cutting and burning down of forests indiscriminately. In a word, it is the destruction of trees and plants of our environment. It has many adverse effects on our environment and our life. It destroys the ecological balance of our environment. Due to deforestation, many species of birds and animals have already been extinct and many others are faced with the threat of extinction. Because of deforestation, it doesn't rain adequately and this causes long-term drought which may turn the whole country into a desert. Apart from this, deforestation also hampers our agricultural production. In fact, our environment is going to be uninhabitable for deforestation. However, there is one way to save ourselves and our environment from it and that is, we should start a mass campaign for tree plantation. For this we should raise awareness among the mass about the adverse sides of deforestation as well as about the importance of tree plantation. In this regard, my suggestion is that we should plant at least one tree every month and if we cut one, we should plant three. I can do it effectively by planting trees so that others are encouraged to do the same. I think all men or women, old or young should come forward and plant at least one tree to save our existence.
